that looks like it will save as transparent to me?, you realise the background of those white and grey blocks are usually ignored when you load the image in anything else?..

Google saving transparency in photoshop. There's a special way to do it as i've had to do it before
There should be many tutorials on doing it but there is a technique other than just saving it.
you have to either specify the number in the pallette that contains the transparent colour or make it the primary colour in the pallette, failing that this is an animated gif and seprate frames dont carry the same transparency?
If you want me to take a look shoot it to me in email.

Open the gif in photoshop, not imageready, choose save for web, choose gif, select the colours from colour table you wish to make transparant and do so by clicking the map to tranparancy button at he bottom of the table, save as each individual frame and recompile in imageready.

To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
Say the image is 200x200, then Copy the section you want (excluding the transparent bit), create a new Photoshop document at 200x200, Paste the image into it (it will appear as a new layer), then turn off the base layer and save as gif.... that's another way I guess.
