thats cool - so there are still some thing in the universe that reflect certain wonderous serenity at times. far cry from the conflicts we strike up on our tiny planet.

The probe seperates Christmas day, doesn't it? Then January 14thish for landing \ splash down?

Its as exciting as the Mars mission when the rover went out onto the surface and we got those full color panaramic views.
I'd look at it, study the detail, then every now and again my brain goes - THAT'S MARS THAT IS!
Amazing. I feel humbled.

That picture for instance; its just some rocks, but its rocks on the surface of another planet. I could look at it in wonder, for hours.
Does this get to anyone else?
images from far off places are truely awesome. I can only agree with whats been said. makes me want to build rocket and naff off...but then i'd miss out on any fun stuff going on here at hexus, so may be I wont.

space the final frontier![]()
It does tickle the loins of adventure, no?
As for the image of mimas, all i thought when i saw that was 'wow'. Such a breathtaking image, hot off the press from saturn!
Keeping a close eye on the mission to titan.
I thought that was a mountain range in Colorado?Originally Posted by Vaul

Solarviews seem to keep abrest of the situation and have a nice facts site.
Of course theres always the nasa site and the esa site.
scares me really.
I drove past a bloke who clearly had slept on the streets last night.
And yet we want (me included) to adventure far far into space.
Without really knowing how to feed the people of the world, or in fact even understanfand why we care what colour our bedroom is painted!!
But worst really...is we dont understand the human brain.
and yet its the human brain that got that photo taken.
humbled? yeah...damn right. But also worried that focus is an important thing. And while we focus deep into space with billions of dollars, there are still things we need to do here
not just on earth....but in our own lives.
There's me getting all wound up about which parents to visit on Christmas day....I wandered out to put the dustbins out in the dark, in my socks...and it was cold...oh so cold....numb feet, cold hands. Pathetic.
and I rushed indoors and sat infront of a nice telly, in the warm.
People are out there now...in the rain and wind, the fog closing around them, shivering to the pit of their souls, with no reprieve, no hope ....living in a box.
and I'm admiring a picture of a ring in space.
My mind hurts now![]()
