I'd be careful with "certainly" - we've absolutely no idea of the long term side effects on hearth or the addiction rates - e-cigs should be used with the knowledge that they are be much better for your general health than normal cigs, and are "probably" perfectly safe, but also make it very very easy to take much higher doses of nicotine.

There are a lot of questions around e-cigs at the moment and it will be some time before and concrete evidence is likely to appear, just as with normal cigs.

Remember you are still taking harmful drugs even if your intake method is safer.

Yep - Been on ecigs for about 3 years... Vape every 5 mins. All day, every day

    Likely more addicted to nicotine
    But feel MUCH better.

Start off on a decent wee tank system, within a year you'll probably start getting bigger tanks / mechs / drippers etc but it'll all become clear when looking into it more and more
2 batteries minimum, 3 or 4 if you tend to go away camping etc.

I'm not for a reason, nicotine at standardised doses doesn't give you:

    nausea
    strange dreams
    hallucinations
    mood swings

It doesn't make it very easy to take high doses of nicotine. Even using too much you feel the effects immediately.

I meant in comparison to "normal" cigs For most people its very difficult to sit there smoking 24/7 smoking high strengh cigs. Your lungs tell you off eventually if nothing else

With these you can put in high strength e-liquid and turn the voltage up and take a much higher dose than through smoking. Yes its still not lethal, but much more than you can get from smoking. The efficiency of vaping also compounds it..which is why you save so much money

You also get the hit a lot faster so stop, the feeling of nausea is a good sign to quit chain vaping the lung inhales or drop to a lower nic level

OK, so my kit arrived and I'm up and vaping. 1 question though, when you want to chose another flavour, do you wash out the tank? If so, how? It doesn't seem too easy to remove...

    Re: Vaporizers, E-cigarettes, etc.

I usually just vape until there is only a dribble left, and then change to the next flavour. I guess you could wash it out, but you'd have to change the coil too.

Whenever i top it up, or change the battery, i stick a cotton bud through the tip, wipe away any juice that's collected under the tip, and when i change the coil, i wipe around the base. All ot try and prevent a build-up of old juice.

Remind me, which kit did you get? Most of the Kanger kits can be completely stripped down, all by unscrewing.

    Re: Vaporizers, E-cigarettes, etc.

EVOD style tanks are 3 piece tanks, the plastic tank section and chimney are all one piece, then the base unscrews (how you fill it up) and the coil goes in the bottom section

I clean mine by emptying it out then rinsing under warm water, use a pipe cleaner to get in the bits then leave it to drain out the bottom

Worth rinsing the coil out while you are at it to help stop. If it's just the standard silica one it'll be fine to use slightly damp still

Tonka: that's the protanks/aerotanks (apart from the minis IIRC) as you can replace the glass tanks, the EVOD/T3 are single piece devices and don't separate out to clean

I got the evod glass kit. I can pull apart the mouthpiece, unscrew the battery and the coil but the tank's quite fiddly...

It's a sealed unit on the tank, don't try to separate it

Yeah, that's the one. I managed to use a cotton bud to clear most of it out. The first few pulls of the new flavour were a bit minty at first, but it's all fruit now...

    Re: Vaporizers, E-cigarettes, etc.

OK, I've got a slight quandary: my wife's not going well with the e-cigs, keeps getting leakages and splashing into the mouth. How do we prevent this? Is it the e-liquid, the tank or the burner-thing?

We've changed the burner-thing, cleaned out the tank etc, but it keeps happening. My one is fine, even though we've got the same model (Kanger eVod Glass), but I'm using juice from e-revolution (ran out one day, panic purchase, actually quite good, but more expensive), and she's using Dekang juice.

Does she need a new tank? If so, what would people recommend, that definitely won't leak, or get bubbles of nicotine in her mouth?

Do a google search on Kanger tank flooding. With my Kanger pro tank it was case of playing around with the wick and making sure it kept topped up above a certain level.

I've now switched to Taifun GT clone and building my own coils with a mesh wick etc. It's huge, a bit fiddly to build but but once working correctly vapes like a dream.

    Re: Vaporizers, E-cigarettes, etc.

Forgot to update this and discuss where I am now.

I purchased a Kanger E-vod kit from Amazon a few months back (this one), started using it without really researching too much and was drawing slowly like a I would with a cigarette. I initially found that the vapour I inhaled irritated my throat and lungs badly and when I exhaled there was almost no visible "cloud". It's probably been the cause of the sore throat, tight chest and cough I have had for the past few weeks. However, it turns out it was my mistake in using it incorrectly. And because of not using it correctly, I have been smoking proper cigs as well.

Whilst standing outside work the other day with a colleague who also vapes, we were discussing it and he let me borrow his Aspire Atlantis Tank with CF Sub Battery. Again, it hurt the back of my throat and chest when drawing and he mentioned about the speed of the draw, suggested I should try drawing faster. Lo and behold, instant relief from the pain, a wonderful taste and a load of cloud when exhaling!

I can't believe I have been using my vaporiser incorrectly for so long!

Anyway, am really enjoying it now and am hopefully going to upgrade my Kangers to the Aspire kit listed above. Just wondered if there are any relatively new vapers on the forums who are in a similar position, upgrading from the basic kit, but not quite ready to fork out on the mega expensive stuff, and if so, what are you looking at buying (or what have you bought)?

When you say 'drawing faster' do you mean shortening the pull? Or sucking harder?

    Re: Vaporizers, E-cigarettes, etc.

Bit of both really, 2-3 short and fast pulls breathing into the lung between them. Works for me!

I can also just draw straight in to the lung, but after a few goes of that, my throat is a bit sensitive making me want to cough. I guess I'll just get used to it.

Day 3 with no cigarettes and no cravings, think it's working now!
