    First, dont use hotmail.
Secondly get a program that can emulate the mails bouncing, and "bounce" the mailes back to them.
Thirdly, dont use your email for any web-based forms, unless you know 100% the company has a privacy statment in your favour.

don't use hotmail in my opinion.

i've got a hotmail account and a yahoo account.

spam in hotmail daily 20+ (to my inbox, more to my junk folder)
spam in yahoo daily 0. weekly 0. ever: 0.

i've added loads of email to the blocked senders and domains so that all 250 are used up for both and i still get loads of spam, i've set it to fairly exclusive blocking setting. i've also set it so that it doesn't display images until you tell it's okay (as they can tell the email address is live when you view the images), and i still get LOADs of spam, there's simply no way of avoiding it with a hotmail account, unless you set it so that only people in your address book can email you, and in that situation new people won't ever be able to email you which makes it pretty naff indeed...

Hmm within an hour of signing upto a hotmail account i usually get spam (dispite not actually telling anyone the address or even typing it once anywhere)

The only reason i have a hotmail account is to use messenger and i just set the junkmail filter to exclusive so i get no email apart from those hotmail announcements.

I do have a barrysworld email account from "back in the day" when they were free and when barrysworld were any good and i use that to sign up to most things (forums etc, even online orders)

Finally I have another account somewhere else which i got for free with very good service (pop3 250mb space etc) it's basically the same as barrysworld before they went crap and I have told about 5 people the address, no spam whatsoever, just so I can get important email quickly instead of sifting through spam.

Hotmail basically send you spam as soon as you sign up, the only way to PREVENT (not stop once you email address is out there) spam is to get a decent account with a reputible company and tell noone apart from trusted individuals your address and have another account for orders/signups etc.

If you specifically need a webmail service then use Yahoo as it has better spam filters. However if you mainly use one computer, use your ISP's email servers and download via a POP3 spam proxy like K9 (look in the software forum sticky).
