    Learning Swedish is fun :)

I've been signed up for 10Mbps Internet access since August and saw some ad on TV saying they are now providing up to 24Mbps via DSL for 399SEK (£31) per month, so I checked out their website.

I have had 8 Swedish lessons so far so I thought I'd have a go at seeing what I could understand there... it seems that I actually have 5 public IP addresses and I didn't even know it LOL.

Also, there was a newspaper article which says apartments in my area are due to have their rent increased by 60SEK (£4) per month... and everyone gets 10Mbps Internet access included

It's amazing what you learn when you can actually understand the things you read

How come those Sweds get such fast net. Is there some super telecommunications network in place or something?

I heard of someone who started to say that. What followed was a monumental chase across many countries, with many witnesses reporting seeing only "a flash of orange steel" before "a cross shaped blood-stain marked the walls". Nothing was found of the utterer of that phrase, but some organs and soforth were found in a locker in Bora Bora.

The moral of the story: Do not mess with Kez. He'll chase you, kill you, but still manage to turn it into a Hexus marketing event and then post news about it later.

It's actually true. I can turn ANYTHING into a HEXUS related event.

Dont you know everyone has better net connections then we do... even the war torn republic of umma gumma land has fatter pipes.

You can get 50 Mbps ADSL in Japan for £20.

Fibre to your door (100 Mbps down and up) is £40 i think

Learning swedish is fun, if your swedish teacher is female, 22, single, blonde, very athletic, and very attentive to your needs as a young man in his prime.

Without the above, learning swedish is somewhat tedious IMHO

Its ridiculous, the internet is the fastest growing media form ever and the government in this country is lagging way behind others in terms of getting decent access to everyone.

and, if I'm reading that correctly, you can get a 1gigabit connection into an apartment block and share it out between the residents?

    100Mbps is a bit more expensive - 235SEK (£18.24) per month extra, making it 505SEK (£39.21).
They also charge you 200SEK (£15.53) for every 100Gb of traffic over your allowance of 300Gb per month.

Britain is so bass-ackwards with IT it's not funny.
Apparently though, Denmark has pipped Sweden to the #1 broadband/bandwidth-per-head position in the world this year.

Makes me chuckle to think I once caused my parents a £450 quarterly phone bill from dialling up to bulletin boards on a 1200 baud modem years ago
