    Angry O2 increasing charges

As of October 1st O2 have increased various costs on Pay and Go original phones. Including calls to standard landlines and other O2 mobiles going up to 5p/minute at the weekends from 2p/minute, and text messages will now cost 12p!

I think us normal users are having to pay for the failure of 3G mobiles.

Yeah it sucks, there's that and the OFT ruling about mobile phone companies charging too much to ring cross network. They have been forced to reduce these charges, so the companies are just making up their money elsewhere. The day after that ruling the price most phones went up by £50+.

Are texts just going up just on O2 or across all networks?

    !

How mant numbers you got on your phone? 3?

    Home, Work and Parents?

I have to agree tho, 12p a msg is a bit steep! Looks like they might be pushing everyone onto contract! :/

I was very, very bored so I counted them for you 46 in total.

I hardly use my phone for talking, mainly for texting and then only when I need to. I am not one of these people who seem to be addicted to sending text messages.

    eventually they will tho

Seems as though a good deal is 02's free sim cards- you top up a tenner a month and get 300texts free

Im a bit hacked off at being charged 12p a text message as well

Im on o2 online original. Talk-a-lot is not for me as i make very few calls and lots more texts.

Having 300 free texts is sweet though so this wont bother me too much. Although the whole reason i moved from voda to o2 was o2 texts were 2p cheaper. But, i am getting 300 for free so am not complaining.

Depends what sim you have and what tariff you are on.

If you are on o2 original then its 12p per message.

I am on o2 online original so get 300 free texts per month. If i was to send anything over 300 i would start paying but i dont send that many.
