    Trains over Christmas

anyone else enduring the misery that is train travel today? trains are rammed. Why don't they just put on more carriages? four is not enough and the platforms can easily carry more. particularly when one is a business class (on a Saturday...)

still at least my route is open and not going anywhere near Finsbury park (which sounds like it is chaos today)

anyway my fellow cramped and uncomfortable travellers catching second hand colds through stale recycled air and unable to get up to use the "onboard facilities" due to the number of people in the way (and fear of seat-loss), I salute you! have patience with the idiot playing his speaker phone, and the leaky iPod headphones, and may your legs not develop DVT before you are able to escape the cattle-class misery. Bonne voyage et bonne chance!

    Re: Trains over Christmas

I avoided the issue by going to the pub. All worked out fine. No crowds, a seat by the fire, and no DVT!

Edit - still got a cold though.

    Re: Trains over Christmas

My train was cancelled completely! Told me to wait another hour for the next one, which was packed and had no seats left. Left home at 10, got to my dad's at 10 that night.

    Re: Trains over Christmas

Went up to London last Tuesday - no problems caused by the trains, but delayed coming back by a fatality on the track at Brookwood.
