Thanks to Thunderbird (instead of Outlook Express) the headers from emails are so much easier to read, I just send out an email to every domain mentioned in the email (abuse@) and get at least 3/4 banned. abuse @ yahoo.com etc. Are you proactive?

Well, on one of my accounts my stupid mail provider thinks i need to open an email before i can report it as spam. So i don't always do it there.
On btinternet i trained my spamblock so well i only get a couple emails a month coming through, so every now and then i report them as spam too.
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.
Nope i've never reported spam. I've just accept it as par for the course and have set up a 'spam' account. I never get spam in with my mail.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
I've reported virus attacks from 1 Static IP address on the BT range now for months and I have read BT's AUP policy for their customers and emailed the logs to their abuse department.
Alas, this bunch of sausage-jockeys are the same as their internet department - In other words - rubbish. I just get "auto-generated" emails back and even after sending about 100 email headers they still do nothing at all about this idiot on their platform sending viri out left, right and centre.
I now cannot be arsed to report viruses as BT are useless and as much use as a chocolate fireguard when it comes to these matters.
All the headers in the world and these numpties still will not do anything :/
Thankfully, yahoo, lycos, microsoft and mail.com do ban from forwarded mail.
What exactly does 419 mean?

I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
More specifically, it's the section of the Nigerian penal code that deals with Fraud. I thinkOriginally Posted by Agent

Yeah, its the section of Nigerian law that makes these types of scams illegal.
Section 419, that's why they are called 419 scams.
