Tunisia beach gun attack - Rip

Over 30 people lay dead and many others massively injured.. Lying on a beach on holiday in Tunisia.

Many of the dead are our fellow countrymen.

UK citizens shielded there, loved ones with their bodies. People died on their holidays... and as hundreds of people ran to hide in the nearby hotels bodies scattered the beach and lay floating in pools

    It's not a,film...it's real.

Our thoughts go out to the bereaved...and still more of our thoughts go to the worried families.. Scared...trying to get home safely having hidden in cupboards and having run..literally..for their lives

Re: Tunisia beach gun attack - Rip

It transpires that the Armed Forces Day parade was a target for a bomb... A plan foiled by an undercover news reporter.

The French had a horrible day yesterday too with a terrorist attack on a,gas factory and a beheading

And a bomb in a Shia mosque in Kuwait brings the appalling savagery to their lands.

We must remember the injured.. The terrified survivors. Not just the, dead.

    With this much carnage...things,feel. Unbalanced

Agreed, yesterday was a sad day for mankind.

The rising body counts in the two attacks gave the impression of some twisted competition. Cap it off with the idiot being convicted for the revenge attack in b+q. You do wonder what's going on.

But on a broghter note; the wider ongoing and more serious problems of overpopulation, genocide and pollution can take a back seat

The media and news papers are walking a,tight rope.....

To expose the terrorists carnage.... Or to show it's not affected the world.

They're going with what sells....and the exposure balance needs to verge on not what sells imo

And, more importantly, each media outlet believes that if they take a moral or ethical stand on their own, everyone else will publish anyway, so they cant afford not to.

People go on cheap holiday to country with recent revolution, history of assassinating political leaders, relatively low living standards and known hardline Islamists (with support).

Sorry, but some of the blame is yours for sacrificing security for a cheap holiday.

I take it that your recent holiday to Antarctica went without incident? Seriously: good luck trying to find a holiday destination without any moral or ethical Bad Stuff in it's history.

Agreed, even before this attack the foreign office guidelines mention all of this.

Sadly, these people took the risk and have paid with their lives.

Majorca might have been a better option.

    Woh there.

They mentioned some issues, but this was coloured 'green' on the map, far away from the Amber or Red areas.

The FO was not in anyway suggesting people shouldn't go there.

Its really really bad to hear about all those who got injured or killed on Holiday. My heart goes out to them all.

Were looking at holidays last week and Tunisia and Turkey are by far the cheapest, £495 PP all inclusive for a week. NO wonder people want to go there. sounds like a bargain, but i have heard to many bad things about Tunisia.

A guy i know who works there sometimes ( His jobs is to install security barriers ) has an armed guard with him when he is working. He also says that the Airport Customs will hold back your luggage and try and bribe you out of cash to get it back.

Stick to camping in the Lake District for now.

Moral issues, maybe, recent open violence, widespread corruption and political instabilty? Easy, most of the european med, most of the baltics, majority of the caribbean, USA, the azores, and thats just the sunny ones.

There are literally hundreds of possible holiday destinations that aren't any more dangerous than your ordinary highstreet.

I'm sorry but that is ridiculous! People don't always base their decisions on whats cheapest.

My heart goes out to the victims and those that are affected!
