It's worth remembering that while the German government may be pro-EU, and pro-eurozone, they have a sizeable (and growing) eurosceptic element among their population. As do many EU states.

And hence, Merkel's problem .... Greece is going to cost Germany a fortune if the bailout goes ahead, and a fortune if it doesn't. She's ..... stuffed.
