Interested in what kind of cases people are using and why they chose them, I'm currently using the NZXT H440 in blue/black, what case are you using and why?

Carbide 300R. Cheap, good amount of space, easy to work with, good features and a very understated look. I personally don't like all the really flashing looking cases, and as far as compatibility and features the 300R has everything I need. Since then NZXT have released a few interesting budget competitor cases too but aside from the rattling top grill, I see no reason to upgrade from this case any time soon.
Antec 900 model 1 and a case made for the HP Z400 - the Antec for the airflow and ease of use, and the HP case because it's housing my Z400...
I'm using a Fractal Design Define Mini. I love it, but they really could do with refreshing it to include SSD trays and trimming that CPU socket area cutout down the bottom edge, and make the front intake more 120/240mm rad friendly, so to at least to bring it up to Arc Mini R2 level, only with those gorgeous Define series design cues and and acoustics.
Currently using a Silverstone Raven RV03 but hope to get a Corsair case the next time I build a PC, possibly either an Air 540 or maybe Carbide 300R but my next build is a long way away, it will be at least Kaby Lake or whatever comes after that, I think, unless AMD stop faffing about and produce a new CPU that I want to go with instead.
Xigmatek Midgard back in 2010
I wanted the side mounting hard drive bays, gives more room for the motherboard area. it was painted black inside, just gives a feel of more quality if they've bothered painting inside aswell, it showed they cared. at the time, the xigmatek Achilles sd1284 cooler was rated very good so I thought, well their cases might be very good too.
going to keep it for the next build as well, probably next year. So will get around to replacing this case sometime around 2020. by then you'll probably not need such a big case.
Coolermaster 690 I
At the time, it offered great cooling for the price they wanted. Now It's a bit of a dust magnet and starting to rattle, but until I spend money upgrading the insides and will need something new (that facilitates water cooling), it's sufficient.
Xigmatek Midgard White Knight. Ebuyer had a decent deal clearing them out towards the end of 2011, and the layout looked reasonable. I bought one and haven't felt the need to replace it yet. My next build is likely to be itx so the Xigmatek will be retired, but I'm planning to hold out until we know what Zen is made of.
Bitfenix Survivor Pro. Great case. very happy with it
Silverstone Fortress FT02.
Chosen because its MASSIVE and it fits under desks better due to its internal layout.
Corsair 600T white edition
Its a cracker of a case with no issues and its still whiter than white, even after 3 years of smoking nearby and practially dust free inside still thanks to the filters
Coolermaster HAF XB evo
- I liked the idea of mounting the motherboard horizontally and easily taking/putting components out/in.
- Amazing handles for moving around.
- Great airflow & super sturdy
The more one seeks, the more one finds and so you realise there is a lot more to be found.
Pretty much ditto on everything.
1 caveat, the fan controller in them aren't worth the postage costs to get them replaced. Mine died almost the moment it came out of the box, got a replacement and that died a month later. After reading it was a common issue I have now had to bypass the fan controller.......This is typical of Corsair, they make great products and then risk ruining them by trying to save a few pennies.

Right now - Some crappy HP one, but only because I'm at work!
I have a Corsair Carbide 500R.
I chose it because it:
- Holds 6 x HDD/SSD
- Has 4 x 5.25" bays
- Accomodates large PSUs
- Came with four fans installed, with spaces for up to 10 (depending on size).
- Has captive thumbscrews on the side panels
- Has USB3.0 on the front panel
- Has good cable management
- Is designed around the Hydro series
- Is a flippin' Corsair!!
It was also under £100, had rave reviews, looks great in all the right ways (stylish, sleek, quiet, sensible, powerful, etc).
However, if the 750D had been around, I'd probably have gotten that instead.
My current dream case is somewhere between a 750D, a 900D (because they're insane and huge) or a Caselabs (because they're insanerer and hugerererer).
Xclio Touch 787
Chosen partly because of liking the way it looks, but mostly due to the cooling it offers.
Mines working flawlessly - had no issues with the fan controller at all and its still working well. Its only controlling the 200mm fan at the front and my 120mm at the rear as the H100i is left to the corsair link to sort.
The space this case offers though is amazing! I'm sure I'll have to end up paying additional bedroom tax with this case. My system looks tiny inside, but its well spaced with the HDD bays removed and placed at the bottom for better airflow
