another pic and a Q. for mods

here's another for you all to judge...Olympus OM-1, 50mm, take nin deepest darkest Somerset, scanned in from colour print

    on a similar note...
Mods: would it be possible to set up an area on the forums devoted to people's pictures and photographic talents? much like the cookery section here but doesn't have to be quite so extensive of course. and perhaps with a set of guidlines prior to posting such as 'no bigger than 100k and 600pix by 500px'...? cause its all very well posting things in the general disco part but I guess a separate photo section would be nice...

It could of course be totally unrealistic and end up wacking bandwidth thru the roof but I would be very grateful if you were to consider it. I know there's others out there that might appreciate a point to discuss purely photo related stuff...?
Anyone else think this is a good idea/waste of time?

    cheers either way

    Very much seconded Shiato.

To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

i was going to suggest it mesen Maybe a photography forum with a sub section for the gallery.

Bandwidth wouldnt really be affected as we would be using our own space and bandwidth, not the hexite server

ah yes, this is true...well, after the recent reshuffle i'm not sure how easy it would be to add an extra 'space' on the forums - clearly have no idea on that side of things *hangs head in shame* but hexus is a great thing so I know its not impossible to imagine...

p.s. tom: your cat managed to sit still and look at you long enough for that?! mine hates cameras, though I did get a great one of her eyes with a macro - i'll see if I can dig it out..

hey Shiato i just shoved a post in the suggestion forum too:

    http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.p...ewpost&t=34258

Also t'aint my cat, its my girlfriends i took around 50 pictures of it, i think it was mesmorised by the flash (which incidently wasn't used in this picture, although i think it could've been useful)

All the others weren't anything like this...benefit of digital is the ability to take so many especially for things like cats that are so fidgity

Nice pic Shiato. Were you waiting for it or was it a spur of the moment shot?

I tried to take some pictures of a lovely sunset/cloud formations a few weeks ago with my 300D but with my battery going flat, no tripod, and almost getting run over every few seconds I wasnt too impressed with the results .

Oh and I've got some quite good photos of our cats so I might try posting some soon.

it was taken on the fly actually, when walking g/f's dog. I cropped him off the bottom cause it was too dark to see him anyway without massive PS editing, so instead I cropped and boosted the colour a bit - i'll try and find the original...seemed a bit too yellow to me.

    edit: post your pics dude...
I found a decnt place to store mine on line; www.photobucket.com works for me
