    Already happening.

The stupid advertising term for that is Native Advertising. John Oliver has a nice bit on it ... let me see ... ah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_F5GxCwizc

It's nothing new. Print and TV have had it for ages, and we just learned to tune it out, turned the page, threw it in the bin.

But as we block the blatant in-your-face ads then we push adverts into more subtle forms, and there's a nasty result :-

Advertising still exists because it works. It makes people spend money on things they weren't intending to before. Companies will keep seeking that influence, resulting in fake reviews on Amazon, fake social/blog posts etc. If anyone can come up with an alternative that doesn't suck and doesn't ruin the economy, you'll be a very rich person. PM me your ideas and I'll go 50/50 with you ...

    Thanks for reading!

There have been allegations for years that some hardware review sites are little more than product placement scams, but they people shout bias at the littlest thing when their favourite brand doesn't get a good review.
