Yeh people usually refer to 19" as possible buys instead of requested 17". Would have thought something would have come up tho...

Im hardly surprised most threads are mentioning 17" with so many 17" specific deals out there and new 10-12ms models out ..

Well "17" is too short to search with as it would put too much load on the server anyway, so I don't know how you are managing to use it, as when I do it, it ignores it and just searches with "TFT".

Absolutely correct. The minimum character limit is 3.

This is partly for load as Kez rightly says and also because full text indexing in MySQL will ignore search terms under 3. It's platform related as much as software related

Nope. Sorry. Try putting 17" TFT. That would match the search criteria

MySQL will also return 0 results if your search criteria match more than 50% of the records in the search. In addition, some characters arent suitable for searching for a variety of reasons. If you try 17 inch TFT rather than 17" TFT then you will get results. The system isn't crap, it just needs intelligent search criteria.

Also if you go to Advanced search you can use keywords rather than phrases so TFT 17 will return a plethora of results
