    Kissimmee information?

    Hey all,

    New Year means new holiday

So I've just booked a 9night stay in Kissimmee, Orlando at the end of April/Start of May.

So, what comes recommended by you guys?

I've got a car sorted, so have considered trips like:
    Disney
    Busch Gardens
    Universal
    Daytona Beach

What else should not be missed?

You have to go to Discovery Cove next to seaworld, swim with dolphins tis a great day www.discoverycove.com you need to book in advance.
Then you have this at Kissimmee www.warbirdadventures.com. They have a massive static display as well Im told, gutted I missed it when I was there.

And as has been said Go do the Hulk what a ride

Seaworld is superb, Universal Islands of adventure for rides but I wouldnt recommend Discovery Cove. My wife and daughter went, very little time with the dolphins for the huge cost involved and they felt cheated. Cast around for a better way to spend your money, there are other places offering similar experiences which arent in Disney.

If you are going to do Disneyland I would recommed getting a 7 day/14 day multicentre pass. It costs a little more but it is so much more enjoyable not feeling forced to start first thing in the morning and finish last thing at night to get your moneys worth. With a longer duration pass we often finished the day in Disneyland after going elsewhere, a few hours were fun, all day was very hard work. Get a cheap cooler from Walmart so you can carry 8 cans and some munchies with you, saves queuing for refreshments and a lot of cash.

Check out the buffets on international drive for evening meals, the chinese places are superb with mega choice for a fixed price. We didnt get to try the Indian but I bet they are good too. When you get breakfast look for the voucher books on your way out, usually by the door, often reduce cost of every meal (assuming you eat "all you can eat" buffet like we did) by a good 20% or more every time.

If bored in the evenings check out the supermarkets like Walmart etc, they are open 24 hours and are huge, some real bargains when you look at prices. Dont take too many clothes, leave room in the suitcase for buying some. With exchange rates at nearly 2 dollars to the pound you cannot go wrong.

We fly out on Thurs 28th April, coming back Saturday 7th May (arrive Sunday).

    We're staying here

I'm soo looking forward to it

Got the car hire sorted too, having been told that the "free" shuttles to/from the park are always busy, often at poor times etc.

It also means we can drive anywhere, looking at Daytona Beach/Clearwater/Busch Gardens etc.

Oh, and we did the Dolphin swim in Mexico on our honeymoon last year, so we'll see how much time we have etc.

Daytona beach was good, even better than usual as the day we went we found a "wings and waves" airshow on right over the shoreline in front of us! Loads of warbirds and new jets with no shortage of fuel to keep the displays short.

Clearwater was ok, longish drive for not much though imho. Busch gardens was close to the least enjoyable park for me, the animal displays were poor in comparison to something like the West Midlands Safari Park in the UK...children were very bored and we left early. Take earplugs to minimise the whine coming from the woman who does the voiceover during the train ride around the outside of the park....she drove me mad. Hopefully its a different one now!

The Hulk at Universal a definite.

Discovery Cove only worth the money if someone else is paying (in our case the in laws!)
