Its something that gets on my tits, i can understand that people cant say sake and say sarkee or osaka becomes osarka. but tsunami which has an obvious T surely cant be that hard to say.

it's not sunarmy howard, there's no R in it. it's soo - nah - mi the T is almost silent, and you certainly shouldnt be able to pick out the T sound.
