Guys, just a reminder that Trump isn't a Republican candidate, but just an aspirant. I doubt the Republicans would want to ruin their chances if coming to power with this guy.

At first I thought it was a calcualted attempt to shift the 'Overton Window'.
Now.... Now I don't know what to think. I wonder if it's the flip side of the coin of say Corbyn, who apparently something like 70% of supporters would vote for him even if they know it means Labour will not get in power.
The beauty of being an idealist is you can do no wrong, for everything is simple and you are absolved of any guilt because your solution was 'ideal'.
I think there are many in the US who are scared, not without reason either, about multiculturalism and immigration. Having Trump voice their nightmares is probably what they want after being marginalised.

Quite right, in fact the Republicans are utterly freaking out about the possibility of him winning the nomination.
It's actually kind of hilarious, they all condemn him when he says something ridiculous, and then a week later when his polls don't drop, they suddenly all adopt a more Trumplike position - the whole run is already doing massive damage to them because they're going to have to flip-flop massively in order to actually win the general election.

Actually it is quite likely.
Trump has said again recently that he may run as an independent. (he's said it before i know, then said he wouldn't, now he's saying he won't if he's 'treated fairly'???? ) But that would split the republican vote meaning Clinton wins. So backing Trump may be the only chance the Republicans have of winning.
It is rather baffling though, almost everything he says would be the death of any political career in the UK. Yet he keeps going and going. Worrying....
The problem, as far as I see it, Trump makes right wing republicans more palatable to the US electorate. If it wasn't for his massive ego, I'd assume he was doing this to make his fellow Republicans look like moderates.
He doesn't need to keep sweet for lobbying groups or corporate donors and, if his ego is as big as it seems, I can see him going independent and killing the GOP chances at the next election - effectively handing the election to the Democrats. However, a Democrat government with a Republican Congress will likely continue the ridiculous grid lock in American government, like we've witnessed over the last year or two.
Worst of all about trump is that there are many people out there in the states who actually agree with him.
I think it's absolutely irrelevant who the president is, but he's an idiot of extreme kind.
I don't understand why is there always huge fuss about elections like year and a half ahead, if not more.
The scary part is, with the way the American system is run, it's entirely possible for the super-rich to buy themselves a nomination, simply by being the most talked about name that sticks in voters minds.

This is bunny and friends. He is fed up waiting for everyone to help him out, and decided to help himself instead!
To me, the US presidential race is looking much like reality game show much like.. ironically, The Apprentice. Trump is seemingly playing to win, and to do so, he is playing the role of the obnoxious, yet somehow successful contestant (I am thinking Katie Hopkin mainly). It does seem logical that the guy who started the original Apprentice would be pretty darn good at it. Honestly, I am kind of entertained. But given that the "job" is the Head of State of the world's superpower, I am scared in equal measure.
This seems right on the money. The man knows exactly what he's doing. Nothing he says needs to be true or accurate as long as he says it so loudly that he can quote his own echo as "supporting evidence".
The only good thing to come from his appearance is that now neither he nor any of the other Republican nominees are likely to end up as President. Say what you want about the awful 2-party politics in the USA, but it's hard to argue otherwise than that the current batch of Republican nominees are third-rate at best.
It's looking as if it could be Trump vs Clinton for 2016 US elections.. Well that's if the email scandal doesn't consume Clinton.

And they have another one, a map of the USA, based purely on Facebook 'Likes' of candidates, just for, you know, fun.

No trees were harmed in the creation of this message. However, many electrons were displaced and terribly inconvenienced.
So as the story moves on, he's certainly looking very real as the likely republican candidate. It's not yet a lock, but getting uncomfortably close to being so.
President Trump? I sure hope not, but the thought depresses me only slightly more than another President Clinton. Who'da thought President Shrub would start to look appealing by comparison (to Trump)?
Just when you think politics had reached rock bottom, too.
Who was it who said "people get the rulers they deserve?"
