Suggestions on desk/work chair that doesn't break the bank?
I've been trying a used/refurb Steelcase Leap v2 but, I don't know if its a bad refurb or if it's me. But it's really not compatible. Too fancy in a way, armrests move around etc etc.
Any ~£100-£200 suggestions?

I have to love the Ikea desk tops and the adjustable height legs matey... they just work.
Thick.. cheap... different sizes... easily changed if you damage the top in a few years.. the legs are genius. And you can move them.

They're a bit uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time though, I find.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear, I'm just looking for a chair, not a desk.

The Humanscale Freedom looks like a good alternative to a Leap. I haven't tried it out myself but reviews suggest that it's a competitor to the Leap. I did try a Leap V2 myself though and found the same as you Marcos.

Just search online office stores for chairs designed to be in use 24/7.
Mainly reception, call centre, dispatch or control desk functions. Far better and usually cheaper than most of the over-marketed gubbins out there, including the special 'Gaming' chairs.

The problem is I don't trust these hacky box-shifting retailers. I'd rather find out about a real manufacturer that has a reputation to uphold.
Seems to be a growing trend in any product I get frustrated with.

Then either get some reccomendations for decent retailers, or be happy paying lots more money for the same basic thing (albeit with a lower spec) merely because it has "designed by gamers, for gamers" written on the box...
Officesupermarket.co.uk comes well recommended, for example, including on a number of PC enthusiast forums.
By contrast, Officefurnitureonline.co.uk is heavily rubbished everywhere I look.
I'd get one of those well before I dropped £600-odd on something like a Humanscale Freedom... especially when it only earns 3/5 stars!!

Maybe my pessimism comes from having worked at a marketing agency that just cooks up "testimonials" and awards and other BS for sketchy retailers. So I don't trust the bullet point "Designed for 24/7 use" from a no-name brand. Because there's a decent chance that isn't the creation of countless meetings and trials with chiropractors and more likely some words a marketing intern has typed in under instruction from the corrupt marketing manager.
Edit:
Also, another favourite of mine. Every retailer is the UK's leading retailer ;-)
Or at least that's on the header of every one.

Which is why I went scouring forums to see what people recommended, based on user results.
If you actually *need* a chair designed by numerous chiropractors because your back is that knackered, then yeah go find one of those... chances are it won't be a £150 chair that charges you £600 for the designer name it carries, though... I forget the brand, but the one that was advertised with Jennifer Aniston bouncing on it - We have those here at work... they're flippin' awful!!
