A reminder about swearing, PLEASE READ !!
The rules on HEXUS are very simple. They should be abided by at all times.
Foul language will not be tolerated and it seems people have started to do this more and more. The filter is there for a VERY good reason - trying to avoid its function is not allowed.
Threatening behaviour is not acceptable.
Starring out some letters is not acceptable.
Starring out words is not acceptable.
Swearing is not acceptable.
Do not do it - we will be handing out warnings on a new system now and this will revoke your access if you consistently offend. Its very easy to have a conversation and not be rude or abusive.
Tone down the language if you are guilty of this. If you have to star any letters or the whole word out then you should not be saying it!

Re: A reminder about swearing, PLEASE READ !!
I'll add my 2p to this, too.
Rules is rules. And we enforce them BUT we do it exercising our judgement and discretion.
You may or may not get suspended for a given infringement. A lot depends on context, and some things are inoffensive enough, or in a suitable context, that we let it slide, or perhaps silently edit, but ....
.... HOW to deal with a given infringement is at OUR discretion.
To avoid the risk of getting dealt with firmly, perhaps even because simply taking liberties with rules has become too regular, stick within the rules. If you stick your neck out, even a little bit, even over something you've seen others do and apparently get away with (though they may have been dealt with in a way you aren't aware of), you may be the one we notice and get made an example of.
Oh, and a thread like this appearing can usually be taken as a hint that liberties are getting too common, and we're waiting for an unsuspecting neck or two to be stuck out. Don't be the neck in question. ;)

And my tuppence worth...
The threads are pleasurable to read BEECAUSE of the absence of bad language. Bad language is really a sign of laziness, there is usually a better word to use. In some recent cases I've edited posts and substituted a more appropriate word, but it's getting tedious, hence the requirement for this post.
Old hands should know better, newcomers, please read the FAQs and take note of this :)
