Shipping to the US, Luggage that is!

    Hi All,

quick query, My GF's housemate has just gone home to the states, and we're trying to arrange the shipping for her luggage to get home. the problem is that we can't really finda reasonably piced service.

Couriers (like UPS etc) only really do airfreight for parcels, and the removals companies we've tried also seem very expensive. Even weirder is that sea freight seems allmost as expensive as air freight.

Anyone ever shipped like this, and could you reccomenda good service?

There are about 6 boxes, each about 40 x 40 x 20 cm and weighing about 5 - 10 kilos. Best price we've found so far has been about £200 from UPS sea freight, door to door. (Going to Texas from London).

Cheers for your help guys - Andrew.

Get a copy of TNT magazine. It has loads of listings for excess baggage services for foreign travellers.
