    Iron vs Steamer?

I personally hate ironing my dress shirts inbetween wears but I need to. Does anyone use a garment steamer? Is it any better/worse than ironing? Suggest any models?

Depends what you mean by a garment steamer. If you mean an iron with an external water tank for generating steam, then they are very good if the cloths are too dry. For a cotton dress shirt though, spray starch and a conventional iron (dry or steam) works well.

Assuming you mean work shirts rather than proper dress shirts, Trywhitt non iron come straight out of the dryer onto a hanger with no need to iron. None of this easy iron pish. If you mean actual dress shirts (ruffles and stuff) then mine go to the cleaners with my suit, but then I invariably slop drink down myself at least once in the night.

    Re: Iron vs Steamer?

I like ironing my dress shirts while they're still damp from the wash - the low spin that enables that to happen also helps prevent them from creasing too badly in the first place. If they dry only as part of the ironing process the grain seems to align very nicely.

    Re: Iron vs Steamer?

Thanks for the answers! I was in the store and noticed that a lot of irons produce steam vertically so it can do both. For example, Panasonic has such option! I read a lot of reviews on bestadvisor. com and techradar. com and concluded that i will pick the old way)

    Re: Iron vs Steamer?

You can buy the steam iron with the vertical steam mode. The only drawback of these models is a small water tank.
