YES to stay or YES to leave? ;)
Probably better off in another thread, but at the moment I'm leaning towards remain. Reason: free movement for work - it helps Europe do better science.

*shrug* Currently Yes (remain), because my analysis of the information available suggests leaving has a greater degree of uncertainty/risk and doesn't seem to offer any tangible benefit to me. It's as rational a decision as I am able to make.
BS - it doesn't take much to work out major issues with Europe. They are the ones each side is sticking in their campaign flyers. How about actually giving people a say on what they think on the particular issues rather than the limited blinkered hobsons choice we're currently getting.
On in/out, my position is firmly tending towards out, but I AM open to convincing otherwise IF the Remain camp come up with something that convinces me.
In that context, what I expect from our government in a "facts" leaflet is ALL the facts, and what they consider the conclusions we should draw from those facts are. But that means those inconvenient facts that don't fit their official position, as well as those that do.
Because, dear reader, my view is that ANYBODY who tells you our membership of the EU is either all good for us, or all bad for us, is either a liar or an idiot. It's never going to be that easy to decide.
So, as all I've seen of this leaflet is press comment and talking head opinions, I'll wait until it actually drops through my door and I'll take a look. If, and I stress IF the government have actually sought to present ALL major facts, including those that don't support Remain, and have attempted to make a reasoned case why the balance tips to Remain, then I will consider it a justifiable use of taxpayers funds.
But that's not what I'm expecting, judging by what I've seen and heard of Cameron et.al's pisition so far. What I expect to see is a distorted case for remain and zero acknowledge that the Leave case has any merit at all.
And should that be the case, then it's not "the facts" at all, but a selected subset of the facts designed as nothing other than propaganda trying to get us to choose what THEY want, not an attempt to genuinely help inform us of "the facts".
