thats crazy
did you report this?
That's spectacularly dumb
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
My wife would kill me of i did that.
I'll say this, I'm not sure anything can prepare you for the sort of emotion and sometimes (even irrational) fear with regards kids in dangerous situations, particularly (obviously) your own, if not others.
<shudder>

As someone who grew up in the 1970's when that would have been considered no more than "a bit iffy" I must say we have come a long way with car safety
Anyone else remember sitting on an adult's lap in the front seat because the back was full? No seatbelts of course, not all vehicles had them back then.

Yep and on long journeys I would sleep lying down in the rear foots wells of my Dad's Austin Maxi and then the Vauxhall Cavalier cos my sister always had to hog the rear bench seats all to herself. Or on Saturdays we'd go the swimming pool with our neighbours kids in their Dad's MG B. That's 4 kids and one adult in a 2 seater soft top!!!!

You're all lucky. I got put in the boot to make space!
For some strange reason I quite enjoyed it.....
I must at this point, point out I'm probably a lot younger than who this thread was aimed at! (Being 22)
I also remember being part of a 7 a-side football team and the coach doing the rounds picking the kids up for the ones who couldn't get there. He used to work for DHL so we'd all plough into the back of his van with our boots on and see who could stay standing the longest. He knew we were doing it as well as he'd throw it around the local estates like a nut case.
Good times...

I vaguely recall falling out the back of my dad's Sierra pickup on the way to the shops around '88-'89.
Roads were much softer back then.
When I was at school we used to pile 15 kids into the back of the school's minibus for chess matches. Usually meant one person sitting on the floor, and I remember at least two occasions on which someone fell out of the back of the bus after dropping the girls off (yes, we had single sex schools back when I was a kid ) due to improperly closed doors. Never seemed to do them any harm
