As a functioning adult, I've already seen an impact as costs of imports have gone up sharply (I personally rely on imports more than I export). And the impact on investments has had another knock on my pension.

I've got a new set of discs and tyres due for my foreign car, all of which are produced in economies not using the Sterling.

    For me personally:

Expected increase in recruitment costs (not being able to hire EU citizens FOC will not suddenly unearth more British people to fill jobs)
Risk to my companies growth rate, given our intention was to expand into the EU in the next 12 months, which will be significantly more difficult (linked to the above issue too)

For the country as a whole..well we have a whole other thread explaining how damaging this will be for all of us, so I probably don't need to repeat it.

Personally I will be waiting to see how this settles in and then will be looking to move out of the UK, possibly to the Netherlands, or Canada. Maybe even Scotland if they manage to somehow retain their EU membership.

The entire economy does; the UK is a significant net importer. And since we're the only major economy that uses sterling, *all* of our imports got more expensive overnight, just on the outcome of a non-binding referendum. Scary, isn't it.

As to Trump, amd I the only one who is concerned about the overtones of this statement? (emphasis added):

The whole world is more peaceful and stable when our two countries – and our two peoples – are united together, as they will be under a Trump Administration.
    That's ... unsettling.

You are mentioning all the countries I've spent the longest in! I've lived in Switzerland as long as I've lived in Scotland, and in Japan as long as I have in England. I might look into Canada too. Spent half a year there and got a very good impression.

Scotland is definitely going to give me a dilemma if they become independant. Provided I am eligible, I will need think hard about whether to naturalise there. Well, the UK allows multiple citizenships but it might be a different story if Scotland breaks off. Still that is getting ahead of myself.

Edit: Now imagine if Trump becomes president. Because one major change isn't enough to make the year interesting

Going to switch my mortgage from tracker to 10 year fixed. Rates can only really go 1 way now and a bit of financial stability will be nice.

I am genuinely scared - Bojo or Goves could be our next Prime Minister.

Well there's a reasonable chance Ill be let go from my job then have to move away to find work, which will also mean I'll probably lose my 3 year relationship with my girlfriend and her daughter... so yeah... not so great for me.

I'm in a very uncertain position until next Wednesday at the earliest.

Hey if we get rid of the immigrants there will be LOADS of jobs for me though... right?... anyone?

We can only hope parliament do what we all hate politicians for doing and say, "you know what? This is BS and we vote not to enact it."

Despite the ramifications on my life, I hope this isn't the case. This is a democratic result, plain and simple.

Bojo of all people is pushing the "well actually, let's ignore the outcome" line.

    For real?
No trees were harmed in the creation of this message. However, many electrons were displaced and terribly inconvenienced.

Why Switzerland? I can't say they'd be anywhere near the top of my list.

I live in a seaside town so this tragic news should actually perk the local area up a bit as holidays abroad get more expensive. We may even see some more life in the port and if Britain starts rebuilding it's merchant and navy fleets from their current all time low.

I was expecting the vote to be closer, 8% more people voting to leave rather than remain is a pretty big number.

I know he has been saying, 'no rush on article 50' which to me, does tend to suggest it's not actually the result he wanted. I always thought these leave politicians, in the most part, thought most of the country wanted to remain but were using the referendum as a means to gain more power. If this turns out to be the case then... I dont even know...
