    Currys' extended warranties....accidental cover?

I bought a rather expensive midi hifi a few years ago, after plugging the huge speakers into a real amp i've concluded that the standard main unit is really holding the speakers back.

What im wondering now is...since i have accidental cover extended warranty, do you think i can "accidentally" drop the main unit, return it, and have them refund me without returning the speakers?

I mean, i dont want to do so and lose the speakers, but i suppose that would give me £700 to play with. Im quite fond of the speakers Would be great if i can make use of that warranty and get store credit and keep a great pair of speakers

Im pretty sure they would either repair or replace it, not refund it.
Plus, your talking about fraud here mate. Probably not the smartest thing to do on public forums...

I wouldn't if I were you. As agent implied, there could be a curry's manager on these forums right now. For all you know, I'm that person .

It'd probably be better to sell them on ebay, or you might get more for them if you sell them here.

Just buy a decent amp from Richer Sounds for £80-100. Less hassle.

TBH though, since I used to work in retail, I know what a huge cash cow those extended warranties are for retailers. I wouldn't take advantage myself, but I sure as hell wouldn't be bothered about someone else deciding to have an 'accident' with their kit.

    just two things..

first off, yes it is insurance fraud & they do have insurance investigators, though I doubt you need worry about that.

If you were to do it, it'd have to look like a total accident... stairs work well..

as for write offs? you'd get vouchers, not cash

Vouchers would do fine for a new TV or something. But its unlikely i'll try this stunt.

I dont think the main unit would get much on ebay but i suppose it beats giving it away for free

Its not really fraud since what im asking is wether they will require the speakers back in case of not being able to replace or repair the main unit.

The whole thing about breaking the unit is halfway there since one panel is already dented badly from a recent move, shouldnt take long whatw ith Uni coming up
