    The Chilcot report

So, after a wait of 7 years, the Chilcot report has been published.

I certainly haven't read all 3,000,000+ words at a cost of more than £700, but the general consensus is that serious errors of judgement were made (surprise surprise) and that Tony Blair's reputation has certainly been tarnished.

At home at least. Abroad he is still well networked for it to be business as usual.

I've not checked if it's the full report but i think it's available online. The evidence > documents section has been of most interest to me so far as it contains, obviously, all the documents they declassified and used as evidence, this is one of the PDF that i found interesting.

My local MP was on question time talking about it, he was military intelligence in Iraq during and after the invasion. He made some interesting points about the failures of the top generals and diplomats, he said he expected Tony Blair to be at fault, but the criticism of theses others was unexpected.

    This interesting

    http://www.iraqinquiry.org.uk/media/...te-on-iraq.pdf

And was one Tony Blair was quizzed on by the media, with the all important 'But' in the first line.

I assumed that it came after a comma, so the following clause qualified the sentence, but it doesn't. He starts a sentence with a preposition, so it isn't clear what he intended - in fact the whole document reflects (to my mind) muddled thinking, almost as if he was putting his thoughts on paper as they came to him, rather than writing a note to another Head of State - it seems as if he is trying to convince himself as much as George Bush.

Yes, I saw that - he was extremely good (as you might expect from a former Royal Marines Officer). In comparison, the rest of the panel with the exception of Ian Hislop (and, surprisingly, George Galloway) were pretty lacklustre.
