    Is hotmail slow?

I'm not sure where I should put this TBH....

I've just tried to set up remote assistance with someone. This involves them sending me and email with an attachment in it. That was well over an hour ago, and it still hasn't come.

About an hour ago, I tried to sign up to clanbase (for CS). They were then supposed to send me an email with "furthur instruction". That also hasn't come.

Since I've had my hotmail email address, I've had various other situation where I'm getting delayed email.

    Is this just me?
What could be the cause? (I think it's the hotmail antivirus)

my cb email went to my junk mailfoolder so check there first, normally the serversare maxxed out with billions of email and they find it hard to cope thus many nights during peak hours you may get the " this server is to bus" message when trying to get to your email box.

Best thing to remember s its free so although we expect allot msn dont realt have to give us much do they?

Hotmail is dire. Yahoo mail is the best free one and much quicker. Been using it for over 10 flawless years. proper POP access too, so you can, use outlook/thunderbird etc, and you get 100mb storage. Tidy.

Actually, the remote assistance thing didn't work because the person at the other end was having trouble with passwords, so that wasn't hotmails fault. I'm still waiting for that clanbase email though.

It's clanbase in that particular example- my hotmail has always been semi-instant, but when i signed up to clanbase a year ago or so it took about 2 weeks to get to me :/

It's times like these I wish I could change the thread title. I hearby change it to "Is Clanbase Slow?"

I still haven't got my email after a full day!!!!! I think I might as well re-register....

EDIT - nevermind. I just checked my junk mail and i was in there. BUT it wasn't there yesterday, so it was still VERY slow.

EDIT2 - The link in my email hasn't seemed to have worked in firefox - I don't know if anyone else had this problem?

(I know this thread has now morphed into a gaming thread, so it can be move if you so wish )

I personally only use my hotmail email for logging in to MSN messenger as I've noticed this too. I can send an email to my hotmail acc from work and cc my gmail address and the gmail arrives instantly where hotmail can have anything up to 24 hrs delay.

I use the gmail account with the POP settings to access it from home and web-based @ work. Faster than hotmail and no "filtering" into silly folders of useful emails from CB or Q ( quakenet )

I seem to get immediate email from these forums. It's just a few sites that seem to be slow in getting emails out. Therefore I don't know if it's homail or those few sites....
