    When I moved last April, I packed the day before Nothing like forgetting a bunch of stuff because you weren't on top of the packing. When it's 400 miles away. In a different country.

    When you load stuff onto the van/lorry/whatever:

    Hum the tetris tune and leave a long thin gap down the left hand side. Find something to fit in it later and shout TETRIS really loud.

    Eat EVERYTHING in your fridge/freezer, then have take-aways for the remaining three days

    Saves packing. If you don't live too far from where you're moving to, you could scout out the local take-aways in that area, too.
