    Warning :: eBay Details Scam

    Received this today in my spam mailbox:

    Dear eBay Uder,

    During our regular udpate and verification of the accounts, we couldn't verify your current information. Either your information has changed or it is incomplete.

    As a result, your access to bid or buy on Ebay has been restricted. To start using your eBay account fully, please update and verify your information by clicking below :

    https://scgi.ebay.com/saw-cgi/eBayIS...ifyInformation

    Regards,

    eBay

    **Please Do Not Reply To This E-Mail As You Will Not Receive A Responce**
    All seem ok apart from the poor spelling, and the fact that the link goes to:

    http://scgi.ebay.com@211.37.185.30:7301/

    Which is nothing to do with eBay. DO NOT enter your details into this page as it is not an eBay site and you will get screwed.

    If you haven't already done so can you forward that e-mail to spoof@ebay.co.uk - I'm not sure they actually care / will do anything about it but it's worth a go.

    it's on their servers. e issue is the @ sign - http://scgi.ebay.com@211.37.185.30:7301/ is username "scgi.ebay.com" on website 211.37.185.30 port 7301. i've seen this trick frequently used. an @ sign means username/password, so be wary of them.

    Just looking at BBc online news and they mention a similar scam
    happening to Barclay's customers, 300+ people targeted and about 5 fell for the scam DOH.

    Apparently these scams are on the increase by as much as 10 fold.

    Lucky I'm so sensible, Now then I must go and reply to a nice African fellow who has promised me £thousends if I only give him my bank detail.
