    - Don't get your hair cut, let it grow long, or perhaps grow a 'trendy' mullet
    - sell old CDs / DVDs / Videos you never watch or listen to on ebay
    - use www.skype.com to make voip phone calls (free to other skype users, or around 1p a minute to loadsa place)
    - ask your wife/partner before buying anything
    - don't buy new shoes, simply polish or clean your old/current ones

Don't hang around this place too long or you'll develop an unhealthy need to purchase new/expensive technology

I just can't agree with the economy one here.

I just can't eat the asda own brand stuff, it tates absolutely revolting. I would rather rack up more debt but eat food than eat whatever they put in their 'food'. I do all my shopping at sainsburys - i'm lucky i guess cos i work there so my staff discount brings down the prices 10%, but even if I didnt I would at least shop at tesco.....c'mon people have some standards eh?

Branded goods are fine from asda/aldi etc, but the own brand stuff really is bad

If you smoke learn to roll, its an essential skill, in a normal week at college/work/pub etc. I used to spend £35 on fags, roll ups bought that down to £9 a week, and as illegal as It may be dodgy fags save you a fortune if you can get em, I now spend £32 a month on 400 B&H gold/Blue Superkings.

Spend alot of time in the pub during the day? Drink cups of tea, most locals do em and they're about the quater of the price of a pint and last as long.

Holes in the bottom of your shoes? Skateboard grip tape works wonders for repairing the soles.

Rechargable Batteries = Massive savings if you've got a walkman/cd player

T.K maxx and Asda do decent shoes/clothes for ridiculously low prices, you've just gotta be willing to look for em.

What I tend to do for grocery shopping is visit both TESCO and ASDA to see what they have on their special "buy 1 get 1 free ".

I can usually get most of my shopping on these offers and then I have double the amounts so I don't have to shop as much

Spud, I work at JS too, that £130 pound saving at Asda was after taking my discount card into consideration too...

£280 at JS, £149 at Asda... no competition really.

We find Morrisons do the best 'buy one, get one free' deals along with Iceland.
