Hello Guys!

Hi,
HEXUS no idea about the nationality, gender or any other personal details of entrants to the competitions.
Where more than one person has answered the competition question correctly and complies with the competition entry requirements, winners are selected at random.
The process is explained here http://hexus.net/static/competitions/

A map here: http://hexus.net/competition_winners/
Doesn't seem to be updated all the time though.

Yes, I was referring to entrants. But the fact that (according to the map) 0prizes have not been shipped to Pakistan does not mean that no Pakistan national has won a prize.

I'm confused - why are you wanting to know this OP?
I have no idea if any prize winners are Pakistani, and we have no way to know. What we do know is that people from several dozen countries have won prizes over the years, based in shipping addresses.
I also know, personally, of several members that, while from the Pakistani community in the UK, have nothing in their published information to indicate that, and nor indeed do any other non-Pakistanis. We simply don't ask. It has, however, come out in conversation once or twice over the years. But other than members we've met in person, we can't even be sure that people claim a specific gender actually are, never mind any claimed ethnic background.
In short, we don't know because we don't ask. It's not relevant.

This is how competition winners are picked: http://hexus.net/static/competitions/
We do seem to get people from Pakistan regularly emailing us asking if they can win as no one has won from their country, but I am afraid its random.
There are specific countries which we get a lot of entries from so obviously that's the reason they tend to be more likely to win.
wonder if anyone from Hussainiwala might win one day?
right on the border - one day I will see the retreat ceremony. It's on my bucket list
I do wonder very very much why Pakistani concerns might exist on winning or not winning?
Do other sites make an active attempt to dissuade competition entries then?
If I was from Iceland I'd worry too (not the shop, before you ask!)

I'm not sure how the map on the winners page is produced - it looks like it's city-based for countries with large numbers of winners but maybe country-based for countries with less winners...? But given the number of UK & US winners compared to any other country, it's not surprising that there hasn't been a winner from Pakistan yet.
Also, it's worth remembering that people can put whatever they want on the form, so the answers to those questions may not necessarily be true...
Hexus uses RNGesus to determine winners,so its pseudo-random.
Off-topic, but I can't see the thread going anywhere anyway.. I love random number generators - in a previous life I did some work with guys that wrote card shuffler algorithms for online gambling. One of my favourites used environmental noise (basically very sensitive outdoor microphones) as a seed - probably the nicest solution as you can't use a computer to "calculate" true random.
Exactly.
Personally, other than for a limited set of official purposes (tax returns, passport applications, etc) where supplying incorrect information might be an offence, you can pretty much assume that virtually ANY personal information I supply, especially on websites, will be either misleading or possibly wholly inaccurate. Where possible I simply say nothing, such as in profile data here which is .... ummmm .... minimalist.
I have also been known to change it regularly on sites where bits are mandatory, like age. I might be 72 this month, and 14 next month. Or more likely, just not sign up for sites that require mandatory personal info.
I think you need to read the post you quoted: "ANY personal information I supply, especially on websites, will be either misleading or possibly wholly inaccurate."
