    Give yer kid a PC made from spares...

    .. and what do they do?

    Only go and print 25 copies of the same blinkin Barbie Tiara... which are now running off as I type cos my PC wasn't on when they had their print button bashing fest!

    Sounds very familiar, built one for my 3 the other day out of old bits, nowt flash (Duron 750, FX5500, 256 Mb Ram, 14 Gb HD) it will do them for education purposes.

    Been setup since Tuesday and lo and behold this morning after multiple warnings from myself and Shelley the eldest (Zara) takes a glass of pop over to the computer and spills it on the keyboard !

    Spent approximately the next hour stripping the keyboard down and cleaning out the sticky Dandelion and Burdock, lovely. Have a spare printer but no way is that getting setup !

    My poor old Deskjet 600 is wheezing its last out now... groinking away... grinding its poor little gears to dust.... all for 25 pages of tiaras...

    Which are now all pale pink as the only colour left in there is red....

    my lil brother managed to kill the harddrive is his puter by misconnecting the floppy while he was "testing it" more like being a little brat and doing what i've told him not to do a million times , and ive lost count of the number of times ive had to reload it now

    still i dont think my lil sis has managed to print off more than a couple of barbie pics at once, not yet anyway

    I'd symapthize with you needing a printer but being surrounded by numerous printers and several lurrvely A3 printers i cant help but feel smug instead especially as those deskjets are orrrrfulllly orrible
