What is everyone's plans this weekend?
Quiet one for me. Chill out gaming tonight, spend tomorrow and Sunday with the OH and Football on Sunday night.
Xmas Shopping will be done 2 weeks before Xmas .
Will peruse through the BF deals to see what is available.Probably try and play some of The Witcher 3.
Moving house from 8am tomorrow, back to London for work on Sunday.
Get food poisoning
Wandered around Panamá Viejo. Was interesting. Did paperwork. So. Much. Paperwork.
Pester previous owner to sort the V5 out.
Ring up insurance companies and swear at their insane price quotes.
Clean the car and stare wistfully at it through the window, while plotting to burn down every insurance company...
Take doggies for a walk.
I am told by the family that they want a cat, but I am the man of the house so we are getting a cat. Possibly two. Visit from cat rescue people on Sunday to make sure we aren't a bunch of cat eating hillbillies or something.
Decorating to do as well, whoopee.
Might try and play some Elite, it has been a long time and the alien encounters look interesting so perhaps I had best brush up before the next release.
Possibly... long story.
Previous owner lives in Ireland, comes here to work and buys cheap runabouts, took this one to the wrong mechanics and they utterly cowboyed the timing belt change, engine sheared off its mounts and car went BANG... he took it to the proper mechanic this time (my good friend) but didn't want to pay for decent parts. Friend won't use cheap breakers' junk that has no guarantee, so PO decided it wasn't worth anything and gave him the keys before hopping back to Ireland for a bit.
I help said friend out a lot with spanner-work, which earns me dinner and free help with my bike, the Mrs's cars, my PC, etc. I've enough spanner-skill that £100 and a day of my time with occasional 2nd pair of hands assists saw the car restored to mechanical excellence.
He then handed me the key and said, "Merry Christmas"... my jaw hit the floor like a fumbled bell-housing!!
Car still needs a clean out (PO seemed to live in sweat, brick dust and mud), a few internal panels, but no rust, no OBD-II faults and everything working great.
It's only mine in theory, though - Until I have that V5, which the PO may or may not still have and may or may not bring when he returns from Ireland, I have nothing by which to tax & insure the car. Don't even know if I can get one off DVLA without some kind of sales receipt or anything, TBH. Will have to check that out...
First mortgage interview, eye test and then back to work, all on saturday! Nothing quite like working in tax during January...
Probably a few drinks on saturday night and watch some sport. Lie in Sunday and then make a slimming world friendly chinese "fake-away". Not a quiet one sadly!
Being the man of the house, I put my foot down after having 2 cats smuggled in while I was out working..
I've found they ruin the decorating, so don't go putting up any wallpaper that you might get attached to, because the cats will definitely be attached to it. With their claws.
