that's ridiculous...
mind u - there were traffic wardens out issuing tickets in my area at 10.30pm last night! I was wondering if it was because of parking restriction signs saying no parking between 10 and 12 - but not specifying AM or PM.

I hate delivery vehicles who think they have a right to cause a hazard to other road users while they deliver. They should have left the clamp on and made them pay.
I agree clampers can be over-zealous on a few well-publicised occasions, but when a vehicle causes a hazard, and the driver knows he's causing a hazard but parks anyway, they deserve everything they get.

it looks like the clamper people were probably stopped for about 2 minutes when they were putting the clamp on the van !

Either thats a private road, or there are additional road features outside of the camera shot, because that isn't even a double yellow line, and theres nothing obvious to make his parking illegal.
Anyone clamped a clamper parking illegally? That'd be newsworthy
I'm sorry, but why do you have to pass a written theory test as part of the process of obtaining a driving license? That's because most people, including police, ignore driving and parking rules. If everybody takes the p!ss with traffic rules and laws, why don't we just get rid of them and let Britain's road to become a free-for-all. Don't start sounding innocent! How many time have you been caught sitting on the 'yellow boxes' when the traffic lights turn red and ended up blocking the traffic? And have you had any points deducted for this type of offence?
Ok, clamping the Post Office vehicle is not the smartest thing to do, but hey, rules are rules.

My mate TC (Top Clamp) once clamped a cop car (was off duty at the time), needless to say we were splitting our sides at the office, as the same cop stopped my mate the previous day to issue a speeding fine in his Subaru Impreza
The moral of the story is that we all break the law when we feel like it, the trick in life is simply to get away it with the most.

Hazard = Parked in a situation where you deem hazard lights to be necessary.
Clamping the vehicle is either a prelude to it being towed away, or is designed to stop repeat offenders.
If you're so negative towards clamping, what do you suggest as an alternative? Free-for-all?
I'm a customer of a clamping firm, and I frequently get blamed. Actually I consider it a perk of my job
