I like the addition of the positive stuff at the end, now. In 2016, it's almost become fashionable to express one's grief in response to a celebrity death - the more obscure, the better. I feel like even the good ol' BBC has become a victim of the "craze" of exclusively reporting deaths. For a laugh on Xmas day, I thought I'd see which stories the editors had decided to put on the front page and it read something like: X number of Russians die in military plane crash, Y celebrity dies on Xmas Eve, Z celebrity dies on Xmas day, instigators of Xmas day fight hunted down, man found impaled on railing(?!). You get the idea.

Did anyone see ITV news' run up to the New Year? They basically did a montage of everyone famous who'd died in 2016. Don't get me wrong, I get their intention, but bit of a downer 2 minutes before Big Ben chimes in the party...

For those of us of a particular age and penchant for "traditional" sports, there is another to add for 2016... Chiyonofuji Mitsugu aka The Wolf.

I used to love watching him make fools of much larger men with a dizzying array of skills.

Oh bum, I was a fan of Konishki, the Dump Truck, a Hawaiian sumo, bigger than life but the Wolf retired undefeated IIRC ! An amazing sumo.
