Happy New Year - 2017 Resolutions and Predictions

Happy New Year folks. Being ill and unable to go out courtesy of dire man-flu, and useless trains of a Southerly persuasion (deliberately not giving them the satisfaction of having their company show up in a buzz-word search), I thought I'd kick off the annual resolutions and predictions thread.

I've already failed one of mine - to be less pedantic. Posted a reply a few minutes ago and sunk that ship in the harbour.

    Still, the fireworks were pretty.

    Happy New Year everyone!

As above I don't really have any New Year's resolutions as such, I just want to keep on track with my education and fitness. I just want to end my fourth and final year of uni on a high note to be honest!

My only resolution is to stop lying to myself about being able to stick to resolutions.

Re: Happy New Year - 2017 Resolutions and Predictions

After making "new year resolutions" and sticking to them quite well (cutting out sugary drinks was the one I'll always be proud of), thought I'd go for an easy one this year

    I've got 2

    1. Build a new website (or two)
    2. Play more games. Work stresses are increasing and I've found getting back in to games helps detach myself from the working day. So grabbed a PS4Pro and dunked some dollar in to my steam account.

Re: Happy New Year - 2017 Resolutions and Predictions

Teetotal for at least January - working so far, last booze was Xmas day.
Recommence alternate day fasting and stick with it.
Not going to commit to gym attendance, but will walk all/part way to work at least 2 days per week.
Found my "weight" spreadsheet at work - 4.5lb heavier than this time last year and looks like I only lasted two weeks logging weigh ins last January - hopefully my resolve will be stronger this year.

Re: Happy New Year - 2017 Resolutions and Predictions

I'm not really setting any NY resolutions but doing the best I can for the sake of my health. Cutting back on the sugar because if I don't I will no doubt end up diabetic... full pack of Jammy Wagon Wheels in one sitting isn't good for you at all.

Get fit again. Must've put on at least a stone since meeting my bird in March.
I know this is the most popular type of resolutiuon, however I used to be quite the gym bunny pre-relationship.

it's amazing how quick that happens. I used to run loads. Harder to do as much these days.

Time can rob you of these things. For me it was being knocked off my bicycle by a remorseless driver. I put on about 15kg before the gravity of the situation hit me, I'm back to where I was before... almost. But this year I'll be making time for my own health, maybe do a few sprint triathlons or something similar again.

Re: Happy New Year - 2017 Resolutions and Predictions

I'm aiming to lose 10kg by March. I started running this morning at 6am, did 2 miles came back and did some weights, push ups etc. Going to be in bed for 9 hopefully and same again tomorrow morning, try and maintain a routine etc. Still got mince pies in the cupboard though
