    Cleanliness...

Right debate time... well not really, but since this is a male orientated forum, i thought i'd ask anyway....

This is mainly aimed at bathrooms, but i suppose kitchens should be in there along side, but here's the question....

How often do you think a bathroom should be cleaned? - By cleaned i mean properly i.e using bleach/cif/toilet duck/shower cleaner etc not just a quick rinse with water....

Personally, i think it should be once a week, at least, but without being "freakish" i'd stick to once a week. However, if i didnt visit my bf once a month and clean the bathroom while i was down there, it would just get the once a week RINSE with water... Now... please tell me what that is going to do exactly to kill germs? He just doesnt see the point in using bleach etc...

Please tell me if i'm being a "freak" or "neurotic" here, cos i personally dont think i am... i like things to be hygenic, yes, and clean, but i'm not obsessive about it, i just think theres certain things that need to be done to keep things at a suitble level of hygene....

    Anyways, on to the poll!

I have to answer with complete honesty; that's one of my other half's domestic chores, for which I'm very grateful, but once a week sounds about right to me.

My wife does it. Though to be fair it's the only room I don't do at all (I work from home, she's out 9-5 on placement and works part time too so I usually clean the rest of the house once a week but just can't be doing with cleaning the toilet...)

dont get me wrong i dont MIND doing it, it's just the fact that i dont even live in the house, and when i do go down i spend a good 2 hours cleaning the bathroom cos it's so caked in limescale/dust/HAIR?!?!!! that i HAVE to do it. However, if it was cleaned more regularly there wouldnt be as much to do, it'd be a simple half hour task!

It's not DIFFICULT guys, i dunno what u're so scared of! surprise ur partners/mothers by trying it some time! or take it in turns! it really isnt as disgusting ( if done often) as you think!

I'd say once a week sounds fine to me. I'm currently unemployed, so i help my mum out around the house and clean all the bathrooms about once a week usually. Takes a while as well, seeing as theres four bathrooms!!

I never clean my bathroom. Components are cleaned intermittently (i.e. toilet, sink), but it is never cleaned in one shot. The shower hasn't been cleaned in 5 months--neither has the floor.

Think the bathroom should be cleaned once a week. with the toilet being bleaced daily.

Kitchens on the other hand, sides wiped down daily and floor/big clean once a week.

Once a week min. But with a family of 6 it's a necessity I believe.
Kitchen prolly daily as it's the most used.

Yeh bits of it like the toilet, bath, sink etc get cleaned every so often but not all at once. Not to sound silly or anything, but our bathroom stays relatively clean. Lol

Tbh we don't thoroughly do our bathroom very often and it takes care of itself. The sink gets done regularly cos mum knows I have a *thing* about disgusting sinks covered in hair n left over spit out toothpaste. But other than that it's not very often at all.

I find a quick wipe usually sorts any problems!

But yes, mens bathrooms can be quite skanky - guy I was staying with this weekend has an appalling bathroom - but his GF moves in next weekend so I reckon it'll be cleaner from now on, hehe!

we just dont get round to it.....tho it does get done at some point every few weeks/months.

Those of you who remember the pics of my kitchen tho will probly be able to guess what it gets like tho - as when the bathroom gets cleaned so does the kitchen (and the rest of the house)

Once a week. Can't be doing with filth encrusted bathrooms. They're just rank and you can't feel clean after using it.

The best bathrooms are tiled top to bottom including floor and ceiling. They are soooo easy to clean.

erm... you have seemed to have missed the option " clean after you use "

Thats my plan - keeps my bathroom SPOTLESS and also saves on having to soak and scrub
