They are indeed. The west end is normally packed at the weekend. The one day of the week when on-street parking is free, and not £1 per 15mins.

    Usually it's 10am-4pm or 11am-5pm in London.

Doubt they're totally 24/7. If you want to experience 24/7 life, head over to Hong Kong. Man, you do absolutely everything that is available there 24/7, even on Xmas day!

As for the Sunday thing, what annoys me is that the shops have to close so early. I mean, on a Sunday, I tend to want to have a lie in, so I get up later, then find and fight for a parking space in the city centre (as there's so many Sunday shoppers), and end up with like 30mins left before the shops close!

what i find annoying in ENGLAND on asunday, is that the supermarkets all close at 4pm, i mean wtf is with thaT??? i used to work in safeways and we were open till 10pm on a sunday, none of these licensing law things, we sold alcohol from 12.30pm to 10pm. there's no need to close at 4pm on a sunday!

Camden Market's main shopping period is the weekend, many of the shops operate short days during the week.

You'd be surprised how busy Oxford Street is at 5am, or at any time for that matter.

Anyone know how late Carphone Warehouse on Oxford Street opens to tonight? Really need a mobile and I won't get back into London till about 6pm.
