Trying to play psychology or covering your tracks won't work as They'll be better than you at countering both. The only thing that could stop Them is if you were able to reduce Their funding to the point where you're outside Their budgeted priority workstreams... and since half of Them self-fund by selling guns and drugs to next months target nations, it will be quite the challenge!

It might also be that that was one of a number of pieces of constructive misdirection, which when viewed together, paint a different was complicated and still misleading picture. Or, I might be creating enough misleading points to cast credibility on the "obvious" point, which though now discredited is nonetheless accurate.
As you know, good intelligence is critical in warfare but the tricky bit is in assessing whether specific intelligence is good or not. Our intelligence services certainly spend a good chunk of their time, and budgetary resources, creating misdirection, even if its only fake identities and supporting documents, designed to confuse Them. This, if misdirection, may be simply a more subtle form of misdirection by creating uncertainty.
Which brings me back to "But did I, and do they?"
There's a central theme in all the above, which is .... "if".
And I mean that in a typically Spartan laconic way.
