    Girls (ahem)

    So...
How do you get these utterly bewildering creatures to understand you?
Advice from girls especially would be welcomed.

Please note that this thread is mostly serious.

I understand girls (women) these days, but it took me 36 years to get here.I generally get on better with the opposite sex.

Daughters on the other hand?????? Not a clue!

I think its a case of understanding certain things are good, and other things are bad, but not necessarily understanding why. I read "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" a few years back and it was very interesting (but a lot of it was a bit...duh, well of course...afterwards).

Women...apparently like to talk things through without being given answers, just like to talk things through. Men usually go "oh well why don't you" and "well if you do this" which is exactly wrong, you're just supposed to go "uh-huh", and "ok I know" and LISTEN.

I mean I get on okay with women (I think/hope) but not romantically at all, if that is what you're after!

Batchelorhood has a lot in its favour

    And yeah I am serious!

*Edit* and please note that none of anything I say is meant in any way to be sexist. If it appears so then it is because I am expressing myself badly, not because I think women should be chained to the stove...

Indeed... That would be wrong. You need to chain them to a post in the floor in the middle of the kitchen so that they can also get to the fridge, sink and ironing board

Ahh just re-read the original question - how do WE get THEM to understand US. *edit* but the poll question is how do we understand them...two very, very different questions, IMO *edit*

Hmm. The question is, do they want to. If you can get them to want to understand they you're a long way to success....is this a specific question about a specific thing you want understanding (ie, why you have two heads) or a specific person you want to understand you generally speaking?

If its the latter...I think...we need more info!
    Well Hello!

Women are endothermic. (to misuse a term for an analogy)

It is rare that you'll get as much out as you put in.

No, women are far more fickle and emotionally driven, and as proven in my most recent experience can make up chronic bulls*** at random intervals to suit themselves.

Men however are easy to read and understand, have simpler emotional demands and are generally less demanding to communicate with.

    Don't we all,

but the more you like someone the more difficult it is to understand them fully imo.

My main problem is confidence and actually going up to them and starting a conversation. But hey this doesn't need to be talked about here
