    HEXUS- Lege(nd) of the week

Office was hectic today here at HEXUS towers... and in the midst of it all, someone (thanks Geez) started whistling the blummin' theme tune to Jurassic Park

and then a debate began... and resulted in

    LEGE(nd) OF THE WEEK

    John Williams

Man.. has he ever wrtten some scores. In centuries to come he will likely rank alongside, and possibly above the Mozarts, Handels and Vivaldi's

Jaws... Raiders of the Lost Arc... E.T. .... Star Wars...4 Olympics (FOUR)....Close Encounters....Fiddler on the Roof.....Born on the 4th July... Superman....Savid Private Ryan......

    /deep breath

The Patriot... Harry Potter.....BFG... The Book Thief...

I mean... come onnnnnnn, how on earth did that much magic come from one bloke?

    Cos he's a Lege.....

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._John_Williams

Give it up for ... John Williams.

Re: HEXUS- Lege(nd) of the week

John Williams is great but I prefer Jerry Goldsmith more,as I feel he was more likely to experiment with different styles more readily than the former.

    Edit!!

Having said that Superman is probably one of the greatest theme tunes(IMHO) for any film.

Re: HEXUS- Lege(nd) of the week

He shot to prominence (if not fame) with the score for the first Star Wars. He's done every one since then and is hoping to do the into and final one.

He also wrote the Bond theme.

Producer Frank Marshall also previously confirmed the fifth entry's plot will be a direct continuation of its predecessor; whether Shia LaBeouf will return is currently unknown.

so to watch the new indy5. you need to watch crystal skull and follow the plot.

    A good composer is stunning.

A favourite of mine was Elmer Bernstein.
Among many other films, his more notable ones include:

The Man with the Golden Arm... The Ten Commandments... The Magnificent Seven (and subsequent films)... To Kill a Mockingbird... The Great Escape... The Bridge at Remagen... True Grit... National Lampoon's Animal House... Zulu Dawn... Meatballs... Airplane (1 and 2)... The Blues Brothers... Heavy Metal... An American Werewolf in London... Stripes... Trading Places... Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone... Ghostbusters... My Left Foot... Slipstream... Cape Fear...!!!

    Zimmer.

    The Interstellar theme!

Here it is as a perfect example of how music can alter a movie, turning the terrible plane crash scene in 'Flight' in to a masterpiece:

Williams and Zimmerman have already been mentioned, but from a games standpoint rather than film how about Inon Zur and Jeremy Soule? They're less well known, but in my opinion they're no less legendary.

Totally agree! I went to see Zimmer last month in Glasgow live. The concert was amazing. Seriously.

I love Williams too. I also liked James Horner's work but some were variations of previous music. Klaus Badelt is quite good, as is James Newtown Howard.
