Our body requires enormous amounts of maintenance. But, do you take care of it as you should ?
Your hearing, eyesight, teeth and gums, weight and fat, feet, etc. How do you make time to look after your body ?

Nope

I disagree with your premise. The body is remarkably self-sufficient. We need little more than air, water and food to have our bodies working incredibly well. All it takes is a bit of thought regarding health (what you eat, getting enough exercise, cleaning your teeth) and you should be fine.
Nope. I need to exercise more.
Depends how you think I should... which I immediately put against all the other expert opinions of 'people on the internet' that have challenged my perspective on it...
I have upset a lot of people, particularly fitness geeks who measure every single calorie, over what I do and how I live.
But no, I don't take care of it in the slightest... In fact, there are probably a ton of things I do that are downright hazardous to my health:
I eat what I like, or more often not at all, these days.
I live around fossil-fuelled vehicles.
I ride insanely fast bikes and drive a dirty diesel car.
I live with three dogs.
I work around sewage, electricity and high speed trains.
I'm also into boxing and swordfighting and generally lethal full-contact combat sports, for most of which we use minimal padding.
I respond to threads on the internet and freely express/articulate my opinion.
I don't subscribe to the "my body is a temple" approach, but I visit the dentist annually, take moderate exercise and try to eat healthily and in moderation. I visit the doctor when I need to and have health screenings appropriate to my circumstance, but generally, my body's immune and inherent healing systems takes care of most things. My weight is about right for my frame and height (after being underweight for several years).
I dont inhale any concentrated products of combustion or concentrated vapours (unless prescribed by a doctor) and I only use prescription or over-the-counter medicines from a pharmacy.
Yes, that sums it up nicely.

I swim half a mile once a week (30 min), try and go on an exercise bike once a week (20 min), I'm overweight - need to loose 2.5 stone ideally and my diet could be better but it isn't terrible - I eat fruit daily, we prepare fresh evening meals around 3 times a week and I don't smoke / drink. I guess I put myself in the could do better category, but there's limited time to exercise and prepare fresh meals daily when you work full time with 2 young kids!
there's a few little rules in my book of life, and so far, not doing too badly
Food and drink
Eat what you want, in moderation and make sure you mix it up, eat lots of diff things
Eat more veg than meat. If there's a load of salad in the fridge do NOT let it go off.
Milk's not bad for you. Drink it, and full fat is best imo
Avoid spirt alcohol mainly.
If you're gonna drink, dont mix it on the night, but do vary it over time... red wine...beer another day.. cider another... don't get stuck on one brand or tipple
Eat fruit.
Eat fish. If you hate fish... you're silly. Mackerel made mankind I believe. Oily fish, close to shore, may have been the cause of us getting clever loong ago
Drink a LOT of water if you've got access to it and a loo.
Coffee aint evil... but stop for a few days occassionally
Beetroot and blueberries etc are superb.
Eat fruit off the bush when you see it in season.
Excercise
Get your heart working hard regularly.
Sweat when you do phyiscial work. If you aren't sweating, work faster.
Dig thegarden, or drag firewood... if you don't have that chance, do something physical.
If you hate running, walk fast. Get your heart rate up. Often
In Winter, keep the heating down in your house, and eat a little more and do something physical outdoors, so when you come home, it feels warm indoors. Ditto at work. ie don't heat your body with heating, heat it with excercise and food, and by aclimatising a little
Swim if and when you can.
Run if you really feel you need too burn off energy. But ALWAYS hydrate before running. ( I hate running but I still get the need !)
When sat at work, learn to stretch .. nec.. shoulders... lower back...

Nope. All those extra years you get by living more healthy you get when your old and can't make the best use of! I would rather be slightly less miserable eating what I like (one of the few things I do enjoy) for a shorter period of time, but I am not the most optimistic of people.
I don't look after my body well enough, and I feel the difference. I don't smoke anymore, but I vape, and I still drink far too much though I've cut down in the last couple of months I think. I eat crap food from Iceland and don't get any exercise at all.
I'm sorry.
Things I'm planning to change:
- get the recommended 120 mins / week of medium - high intensity exercise with cycling around
- buy less sh*t food
- go to a counsellor so I can get to the bottom of what's making me drink too much, and then cut down more
- loose around 15-20 kg through calorie control and perhaps keto if I have to.
- keep up my supplements regime because it's awesome.
- cut down / stop sugar (coke/pepsi/chocolate bars)
- forgot something here.
supplements daily:
20bil probiotic
375mg magnesium
vitamin b6 daily
vitamin b12 regularly
5-htp daily (I think 100mg, not sure).
l-theanine daily
green tea extract daily
large omega 3 daily
Calcium and Vitamin D
then whatever prescription crap I'm on at the time (some of which does cause me to gain weight but nothing I can do about that)
I am interested in any other daily or regular supplements I'm missing out on that are beneficial.

Agreed - and if you are finding a benefit from supplements then I'd recommend going to your GP and asking them to investigate - for years I thought I needed iron supplements because I'm veggie, but apparently not - the anaemia was symptom of something else much more serious that I was fortunate enough to catch early.
