Mr David??
Twas a bit dodgy for me yesterday evening as well
I had a moment of panic when it asked me for username and password citing 401 errors. phtooey. nasty errors. me no likum errors.
I was starting to think hexus had been hacked again or something! What happened?
Yeh I got the password thingy earlier as well, not a good thing. Hopefully it was someone just flicking the wrong switch.
Hope noone has found out peeps passes using that .

Under Development...
Blimmy glad she's back
Me thinks someone passworded a directory on the server by mistake
Founder of stupidity
The security of the site was not compromised. We were installing some new hardware to allow remote monitoring and the site was inadvertently pointed at the development server which is password protected for obvious reasons. Once we got hold of our host he switched it back and service was resumed. Let me just reiterate that at no time were user's password in any danger of being discovered, hacked or otherwise illegally used.
Yay it's been fixed while I sleep

Last nite i seemed to have or be aware of loads of problems.
The Bel9oved Hexus was down
MSN was down
Half my mates couldnt get on steam for a clan match we had booked.
One of my email providers was down - the one where i store some very rarely used but necessary info - necessary last nite.
And i ran out of Pepsi!
And David who is feeling *very* poorly ended up sorting it
Thanks Az for all the help - as he said what happened... I can go in to more detail now.
It was nothing to do with traffic load or anything at all.... just a muck up.
Basically we have been constantly battling high load and other issues so yesterday the following was done:
APC master switch installed
Firmware on the IPKVM updated
HEXUS has a load balance setup which we have not had to use yet - but last night we saw it semi kick in and the primary server did not take its IP address back.
One of the servers it mirrors to is our development box - hence the problems with the login prompt
It was very unfortunate, and we are in talks with our hosts to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Sorry guys - we are just as upset as you lot
ouch not good. I'd literally just flown back in and catching up on the essentials and noticed hexus was gone slight moment of panic!
