I only recently started playing Crysis 1, so am dead happy with my settings.
So if you want to play Crysis on Very High at 4k you need a 1080ti to sustain 60fps. Wow.
I know it's still a good looking game, but I wonder how much of the performance is down to optimization?
i never quite fell in love with Crysis... but a great idea to bench modern kit against it

I think it was Doom3 that first came out with an Ultra mode that was designed to be unplayable on existing hardware as it expected more VRAM than was available on any existing hardware. Seems an odd thing to do when most games have a shelf life measured in weeks, but perhaps it generates a few sales down the line.
Friend of mine loaded it up last night to see...
i7 5960x@ 4.6, 16GB 3200Mhz corsair Dom Plat, Asus RE10, Titan XP, 960 Pro, SF 1200W, all WC'd with a stack of rads, running on an Asus ultrawide monitor.
Game was stuttery as heck and using a lot of CPU resources, dropping as low as 25fps.
There's a slider of some kind in the settings. Dropped that right down and things improved, but still not amazing. We're currently mucking about trying to figure what the main cause is.
It sounds like it's scaled pretty well, it was 7.5fps on an 8800 Ultra cranked up to maximum in 1920x1200 at release:
