I have had an issue with BT for 18 months.
For about a year they were whacking on "excess usage charges" on my broadband account despite it being unlimited. This was a system error and has now been rectified when they credited me a one-off £300 in July this year.
Now I don't get itemised telephone bills, just the summary for the month. I've noticed since they stopped with the excess charges on broadband that my telephone usage charges have gone by a lot despite my usage not going up. All in 3 months since the credit was applied to my account. I average bills around 60, all of a sudden in 3 months I'm getting gbp100 bills p/m that for the first time I'm owing 40 pounds.
I think they're making up the charges to knock credit balance down. I'm out of contract and am moving provider now.
Should I cut my losses and pay up the 40, or ask for itemised bill.
