After a bit of advise really.

Bought a graphics card from someone on the forums, and it got damaged in the post.

It was sent RMSD. Does anyone have any experience of trying to claim the money back for the damaged item?

I can't afford to lose the money!

I have filled in the form, it seems like either of you can do it to be honest.

yep, sender has to make the claim, Max of £500 compensation. So i think you're safe

well i just got back full compo for a parcel that parcel force lost so i now have faith in the system , but for damaged goods make sure you have still got the original packaging as you may need it i think

The system of claims has always worked because Royal Mail have such little faith in their own workers they will pay up without even investigating it properly.

if they dont get a sig when delivering something, so it looks lost to you, yet the person who u sent it to infact got it....

what sort of compo do u get for that ? will they check ? or just pay up, and if they do check it got there, will they give you a lot ? or just your postage back?

You only get back what you say its worth.
You pay extra to get more compensation. Standard RMSD is £250, and 50p for every £250 more.

RMSD very rarly gets lost in my experience.

Be prepared to wait 2 months for any reply/compensation. Took me that long - I had infact forgot about it... but it was only a £30 claim for RMRD..

I was sent a DVD by recorded delivey, turned up broken in little bits (looked like it had been trodden on). I (the receiver) claimed, and got a refund for the value within about 2 weeks.
