Quick one-phrase Japanese translation needed if anyone can :)

Am just looking at a book online and condition is given as 本体:経年並み

Have tried asstd online translators and so far google makes the nearest half-sensible-sounding stab at it with <condition> Body: Aged to Age

I could assume that means condition concomitant with its age? which could also mean it's in the condition it was at publication date ie As New.. if anyone can get any nearer or confirm that, it would save me contacting the Japanese seller which may get me no further on. Ta much

    "Appropriate/average for it's age".

Yes, that's as near as I could guess from the google attempt but even that was open to interpretation. Thanks a lot not a very sound bit of bookselling terminology, have to say, as the book is only 2 years old; 'appropriate for its age' is pretty vague and no substitute for used/good/vg & so on. Also means I'll probably pass as I don't fancy quibbling over a purchase from that distance.

Yeah, Amazon Japan sticks to more familiar terms.

From my understanding, it's basically used, a step below "as new". A used two years old book may still have signs of wear, which exclude it from an "as new" description.

I agree it is pretty vague though.

It's these little room-for-interpretation descriptions that make online buying difficult. My nearly new may not be someone else's, and of course there's nearly new = used but handled/read carefully, and nearly new = never read but a little outer wear, etc. I've bought things that I think have been under-described as to condition, the more annoying bit is that I'm also certain to have turned down items that in person I would probably have looked at and thought were absolutely fine. Nothing really beats a few top-notch photos.

Thanks again, & will put this one book on the maybe list for if I can't find another/have the spare money to take a gamble.
