ebid - its free to post items, unless u want bonus stuff like ebay, e.g banners, bold, etc, its about 3 quid to join i think, then free from there

the only real challenge ive heard of, theres QXL too, but ive not been on there in yonks

the problem is, is your selling something with a small audience, maybe something rare of obscure, other sites have low audiences, and might go unseen, or bid up to low prices with people not realising their value, the thing with ebay is, everyones heard of it, if someone wants something like elvises snot balls, they know they can find them on there so if you got something weird wonderful and obscure you know itll sell well on ebay, even tho you wouldnt expect it to. somewhere like ebid and maybe qxl is that its probably good to sell stuff thats popular, that would sell anywhere, likes phones and pcs, not rare amazonian banana skins

i noticed nochex do a classifieds ads too now, not auctions, but if your selling stuff might be worth a look in, but theres not a lot on it yet

QXL used to be good, used to be plenty of private auctions, which were absolute steals. Got quite a few pc bits from there. But about 3 or 4 years ago they were bought out and the whole ethos of the company changed and now they're just a tool for advertising small backyard pc stores who want to sell their goods online. And there isnt any bargains on there anymore.
