Having eaten too much and relaxing in front of the TV, a very good thought.
Thank you!~
We (I) Appreciate your service and dedication. I've worked Christmas before at least a couple of times and done shift work too. It's hard work but someone currently needs to do it. We appreciate it and honour you for your efforts. I hope you get more than the current like 10% discounts on starbucks or whatever in future :)
Lovely! :))))))
Ah yes indeed.
And although the day has now passed, for those with kids (or even without!) who want to make Christmas mean something more than just pressies and food etc., having an annual tradition where you put together a 'care package' for someone in the public services, or contribute to one of the organisations who do that sort of thing, is a good way to teach the kids, and remind ourselves, to get our eyes onto other and just ourselves.
It's something I'm going to be doing with my kids now they're of an age to understand a bit about what's going.
