Smile A quick hello and a couple of questions from newbie

    Hello everyone!
I'm new to the Hexus, trying to find my way around here
Got here accidentally through giveaway and I'd like to stay for a while.
Coudn't find a right place to ask questions about forum's technical side...
When I try to edit my profile I get a messege about 1. not having sufficient privileges or 2. having my account disabled, which would be sad cause I just singed up - but maybe eager registering for all the giveaways without posting anything on forums might be seen as unwanted behaviour...
Anyway, nice to be here, even if only as a reader.

    Welcome to HEXUS.

I can understand deciding to stay after the competition alerted you to HEXUS' existence, but how does that happen accidentally?

I was following the "trail of crumbs"
As I recently discovered the world of giveaways (maaaan, that's yuuuge!!) I was visiting many sites that were listing sweepstakes and all.
And as my interest in participating IN ALL OF THEM (mwahahaha!!!) is slowly fading, I am actually finding some really cool places with genuinely valuable content. Like HEXUS

Yes. Not proud of that but isn't that how it works? Sites/bloggers/youtubers/companies make sweepstakes to gather a crowd (and up the traffic) and some promile of that crowd stays. (That's how I see it, maybe I'm wrong )

    You're not wrong!

I did go through an intensive period of 'comping' as they call it a few years back (although was already on HEXUS at that point).

Well if competitions attract people who then stay around they're doing their job
Grab that. Get that. Check it out. Bring that here. Grab anything useful. Take anything good.

Don't worry about it, many people find sites by looking for competitions etc, nothing wrong with it

Forums pre date Facebook and other places where people share stuff. They don't offer you stuff randomly via a calculation based on your previous chats... but instead try to be more logical, laid out in sections for you to browse.

HEXUS Forum's are blessed with the large scale membership that you can come, enjoy, as and share, talk and occassionally rant.... and take godo vibes and knowledge with you .

We have a type of Hierarchy of forums, where a main section has daughter sections that relate but help it stay tidiers.

Mainly it's PC Tech based but we have a VAST amount of knowledge/dross/genius/wisdom and rampant daftness. You just gotta look for it
